Stay at KSL Resort Hotel, Johor Bahru

Went to stay at KSL Resort Hotel at Johor Bahru recently. The staff gave me a smoking room though I asked for a non smoking one. Anyway, I accepted it and there wasn't any cigarette smell in the room. Check in was fast and pleasant.

The superior room was clean and the king size bed was firm. Overall the room was clean except that the cleanliness of the bathroom could be better. The glass panel of the shower room deserve a thorough scrub and there were hairs on the bathroom floor. The rain shower was fantastic though.

Breakfast was good and there were sufficient spread of food available. But I saw people queuing up at the restaurant due to lack of tables and seats available. Overall it was an enjoyable stay at this hotel.

Kapitan Supermarket at Galleria@Kotaraya Johor Bahru

I was at Galleria@kotaraya Mall in Johor Bahru and was surprised to see a supermarket at this mall. The supermarket is called Kapitan @Galleria. Compared to the Kapitan shop in City Square JB, this supermarket is relatively much bigger in size. There is a wide range of merchandise here - you can buy almost all your daily necessities here.

However the Galleria@kotaraya Mall is still a very quite mall; there is no crowds. There were many empty units of shops at the upper level of the mall. Hopefully, the management of this mall can attract more tenants and shoppers here.

Singapore Airshow 2014 Photos

Here are some of the photos of the Singapore Airshow 2014 which ended recently. Overall it was a wonderful experience; though the weather was extremely hot and sunny. I was literally sweating and getting a free tanned at the same time.

Looking forward to the next airshow in Singapore.

Tea Garden Restaurant at City Square Johor Bahru

Recently went to Tea Garden at Level 6 at City Square Mall. There is a small fishing pond with koi fishes and lots of greenery - which makes this place relaxing and spacious.

There is also a food court located at Level 6 - Dapurkita Food mall which was crowded with office workers during lunch hours. I went to Tea Garden Restaurant during lunch hour and the place is almost full. Luckily I was able to get a table for 2 in less than 5 minutes. I wasn't going there for lunch. In fact I wanted to find a place to rest and try out some light food.

There is also a outdoor section (non air conditioned ) where I saw mainly smokers dining there. The food came promptly after ordering. Overall I am not impressed with the food. The Chee Cheong Fun with curry gravy was just ordinary. There is a coffee shop stall at Meldrum street that sell this food item and it is really good. The Rojak was quite pathetic as well. In fact I prefer the Rojak at Chicken Rice Shop located in this mall. 

Anyway, I will try out their breakfast set - kaya toast, half boiled eggs and milk tea on my next visit. My friend love their Hainanese milk tea. 

Chinese New Year 2014 Video

Saw this Chinese New Year musical video from Astro Malaysia - cheerful and easy to sing along; thought I shared it here. Every time when it is Chinese New Year, I can't help but feel older and hopefully wiser. Time fly so fast when I am busy. Perhaps I should slow down a little this year and learn to 'enjoy' life at a slower pace.

Chinese New Year Decor at City Square Mall Johor Bahru

I went to City Square Mall Johor Bahru to buy some Chinese New Year goodies. Noticed that most of the traditional Chinese cookies prices have gone up. There are enough stalls on the atrium for me to pick and choose from a wide variety of cookies and food.

The Chinese New Year decor at City Square mall looked wonderfully simple and beautiful. Simple concept and yet impressive. Here are some of the photos -
